Ratings Overview in App Radar

Explore and analyze your ratings in a cleaner, faster and more intuitive way with our newly redesigned Ratings page

Written by Natallia Harbar

With our new Ratings page you can quickly access and evaluate your app's ratings and compare it to other apps in the app Store. It fetches your data directly from Google Play Console or App Store Connect and presents it in a nice and easy-to-understand overview page.

This helps you see your app's Rating data at a glance and review the impact your changes have on the public perception.

How does the Ratings page work?

Right from the start you will see two tabs - My app and Competitors app.

  • My app will show you data about your own apps

  • meanwhile Competitors app will allow you to explore Rating info from your competitors' apps

This means you can not only check your app's rating data and see how we'll its being received by users, but also peek at how your competitors perform.

How can you customize your search?

At the very top of the page you will see two options: to select your target app and to choose the storefront. By default, your Tracked Countries will be displayed at the top of the list.

What Rating data can you see on the page?

At the very top of the page you can see general helpful information such as:

  • Average Rating - average user rating in the selected country

  • Total # of Ratings - total number of ratings for the lifetime period of the app. The delta will show changes of the recent 30 days compared to the previous 30-day period

  • Average Category Rating - average rating across all apps in your main category

  • and Average # of Category Ratings - shows overall user rating activity for the category

The numbers in this block are based on its perofrmance for the last 30 days.

More in-depth Rating data

With the Ratings Trend Chart you can additionally see the breakdown of your rating and it's changes.

Filtering between Total Ratings and New Ratings can help you better review your ratings depending on your goal.

Here, you can also apply the Date Filter and select the desired granularity by Day, Week or Month.

You can also Export your selection as a CSV file.

By hovering over the Rating column, you can see a more detailed breakdown for each day.

For ease of use the color tooltip also goes from green (5* rating) to red (1* rating) -the greener your chart is, the better!

Total ratings show the overall number of ratings submitted for the selected date range.

What do negative values mean?

Negative values represent removed ratings, not new negative feedback.

This can happen when:

  • Users delete or update their ratings

  • App Store / Google Play removes spam or invalid ratings

  • Ratings are reattributed to another app version or region

So the chart shows the net change in ratings for that day.

Reviews section

If you scroll down, you can also find a helpful Featured Reviews section which will help you see the most relevant reviews for your selected app and country. Here you can also filter them by Star Rating or go through them all at once.

We hope this feature will be of great help in optimizing your app and evaluating its performance šŸ’›
