Designed to provide actionable insights, the Tracker empowers you to refine your ASO strategy, uncover opportunities, and make data-driven decisions that enhance your app’s visibility in the highly competitive app store landscape.
Features of the Tracker
1. Filters
The Tracker has valuable filters to help you with your analysis, enabling you to streamline your keyword research and focus on actionable data. Use these filters to refine your keyword list and identify the terms that matter most to your ASO strategy.
Additional filters, such as date range filters, allow for time-specific analysis. These filters can provide insights into how keywords perform over specific periods or identify trends tied to seasonal changes or app updates.
Text Search: Use this to quickly locate specific keywords within your list. This is particularly useful when working with a large keyword dataset.
Rank: Analyze keyword rankings by position to prioritize high-performing terms or identify those needing improvement. Apply this filter to focus on keywords ranking in the top 10 to capitalize on their visibility potential.
Search Volume: Narrow down your analysis to keywords with high search volume. This filter helps you target keywords which are frequently searched by users, ensuring maximum reach. However, pairing it with the Difficulty filter can help identify achievable, high-volume opportunities.
Difficulty: Filter keywords based on their competitive landscape. Lower-difficulty keywords offer opportunities to rank faster, while medium to high difficulty keywords might require longer-term investment but yield higher rewards.
Relevancy Score: Focus on keywords that align closely with your app’s theme and audience. Prioritize high-relevancy keywords to ensure they are meaningful and impactful for your app’s discoverability.
Max Reach: Important metric to consider when planning your ASO updates and advertising campaigns, as it gives you an idea of how often your keyword is searched and ad could be seen by potential customers. The metric is based on Search Popularity.
Here you can:
Apply filters to target specific criteria. For instance, filter by Rank Distribution to see keywords ranking in the top 10 positions.
Customize the filter set by clicking the Filter button to add or remove specific criteria.
2. Columns
The table displays key metrics, including:

The Tracker makes it easy to expand your keyword list:
Click + Add and input your desired keywords (separated by commas or one per line).

4. Ranking History
Analyze ranking trends over time to measure the effectiveness of your ASO strategy. SplitMetrics offers two powerful tools for this purpose: the Ranking History feature within the Tracker and the Keyword Rankings Trends Tool in the Keyword Research & Analysis section.
This feature allows you to track keyword performance across different timeframes and identify patterns specific to your app’s visibility. This is particularly useful for monitoring seasonal changes or the impact of updates to your metadata.
Additionally, selecting a date range in the chart view allows you to focus on specific historical data in the chart. However, to filter the table and "Change" column by a date range, you must apply a separate filter in the Tracker section.
Select up to 10 keywords in the Tracker and click Ranking History to view their historical data.
Compare your app’s ranking performance against competitors, by selecting one competitor from your competitors list.
Adjust the time frame using the calendar to focus on specific periods.
For single keyword analysis, compare your performance with up to 9 competitors in the selected time frame.
5. Live Search
Gain real-time insights into apps ranking for specific keywords.
This feature allows you to evaluate competitors’ positions instantly and provides insight into how relevant the keyword is for targeting. Use it to identify new competitors or refine your strategy by understanding the apps that dominate specific keywords. Add competitors directly to your Tracker for ongoing analysis.
Click the Live Search icon next to a keyword.
View the apps currently ranking for that keyword along with their ranks.
Add competitors directly from this view by clicking on the + sign, to further analyze their strategies.
6. Tags Management
Organize your keywords effortlessly with custom tags for better segmentation and analysis. Tags are especially useful for grouping keywords by target audience, whether they relate to generic terms, competitors, or priority, making it easier to monitor and act on specific sets of keywords.
Click on the Tags column or the Manage Tags option in the Tracker.
Add, edit, or delete tags to categorize your keywords.
Back on the tracker, select multiple keywords and apply tags for bulk organization.
7. Export Options

Use it to create detailed reports, compare performance across time periods, or integrate it into third-party tools for deeper analysis. Exporting data regularly can also serve as a backup for tracking historical performance trends.
Click the Export button above the Tracker.
